Assessment Summary

Department of Labor needs to address the following issues: 1) "Fails to document all non-public and restricted datasets, redactions, restrictive licenses and provides an explanation for non-disclosure (in the rights field)"; 2) "Insufficient link quality (20% or more broken and error links this quarter)" 3) "Fails to provide an up-to-date Data Publication Process on the /digitalstrategy page."

The uses vary widely. The top 3 users (4 and 5 are just sample or test apps) outside DOL used data to either find new business opportunities, highlight information in the data, or just report the data. The third example is actually our #1 user, the Census Bureau, who did not respond.

There has not been a single channel that has stood out. Social media support for open data at DOL has been weak. This is an issue that those responsible for open data and social media have been working on together since the social gov summit on open data.

The media has asked for economic indicators without the annual summary calculations. We are working on providing that data.

We have received a request for additional economic indicators released in a more digestible format from the media. We will be releasing these gradually over the coming weeks.
